With the introduction of Annex SL, the document that defines high level structure for all ISO management system standards, it has become easier for organizations to transform existing management systems into an integrated model.

This has resulted in more explicit requirements in risk-based thinking, more user-friendly requirements, more flexibility in documentation and a performance based system meeting the needs of interested parties.
